flamingosauce
Hi there, I'm new to this forum and to keeping chickens. Can someone tell me please...My 12ish week old Sussex chicken is stretching out its neck and opening its mouth wide to the sky. Does this mean its trying to crow and going to be a cockerel or is this behaviour seen in hens/pullets too? My Calder Ranger and Speckeldy are not displaying this behaviour. Many thanks. Patricia W
It may be adjusting its crop? Or worms?... When they crow , they crow.. Tricia

Griffin
12 weeks is a bit early for a Sussex to start crowing anyway, mine don't generally start until at least 20 weeks.
