scarlettohara
Clipped the new girls wings yesterday and let them out to fr for an hour this am (with the others, all fine just a couple of pecks) however there are impossible to get near to pick up. I have had to use a big fishing net to catch them and hope this doesn't hurt them When I do catch them I stroke and talk to them before putting them in the run and do this at night as well. They won''t come to me for corn - I had no problems with the older girls so any suggestions ? 2 are bluebelles and the other a silverlink, maybe they will just take longer
Laura & CTB
My new girls have taken a few weeks to settle down - Guinevere has only yesterday decided she is brave enough to eat from my hand . Are they laying yet? That usually make them settle down and of course then they will also start to crouch and make picking up a whole lot easier. Meanwhile you could always get them used to a certain "treats" bowl - something bright and shiny like stainless steel that rattles well when its got corn in it. I did this with mine and they soon learnt to follow the bowl everywhere - makes getting them back into the run much easier. Good luck

sjp
I've had my 2 new girls since the weekend before Easter Hope the speckled Sussex loves to be picked up/stroked. Faith the Wyandotte has only in the last week started to feed out of my hand but she won't let me pick her up or stroke her Roadrunner the gold legbar I've had nearly 12 months is same. just keep offering treats in your had from the same tub they'll get the idea in they're own time
