Raina
Hi all, I have got just 1 Female out of the 5 eggs i've hatched. I would like to keep her (Sylar) but am i wise? She will have to be kept on her own for quite some time till i could try and introduce her to my Big Girls. So,Should i keep her and try and introduce her to my Girls once she's bigger (she just a couple of days away from being 5 weeks so i would be waiting for some time) Sylar & Hiro are my Favorites and Sylar is my mum & Sisters favorite too

jellykelly
Can you not get another girly chick to keep her company?
Chook n Boo Mum
Can you not get another girly chick to keep her company? Just what I was going to say Raina....what a shame to have such a heavy "boy-hatch" Sha x

jellykelly
Have you kept any of the boys?? What about leaving Sylar and a boy together and then perhaps trying to rehome the boy later? If you introduced another girl chick - could they really do a lot of damage to each other at that young age if they were simply placed together? Raina
We were thinking of keeping Hiro as he is quite submissive to Sylar and he is the quietest out of the lot (and one of the friendliest) My cousin has a cockerel a bit like him too and he doesn't crow because he's the lowest ranking chook (his hen's boss him about ) But we all knw we'd get way too attached I'm not sure about the damage as i've already been pecked by one and it hurts quite a bit (not as much as the big girls though because the twist when they peck )
Chook n Boo Mum
I think I'd wait until the boys leave home & get another girl to put with Sylar before you add her to the big girls which may make that intro a little easier . Does anyone nearby have a spare rabbit hutch for intros, or try Freecycle. Sha x
