Leicester_H
Not sure if I have a problem or not, so would appreciate the collective wisdom of the omleteers. Since about Christmas (??), Lily has had a bare patch on her neck - have checked several times for creepy-crawlies but can't see any. For about the same time (I think), Smokie has had a bare patch on her chest - it looks red and inflammed but she doesn't seem bothered by it and doesn't mind if I touch it It doesn't really notice that much, unless you look carefully. Now, Lily seems to have a similar red chest (but a bit smaller) Have checked several times for creepy-crawlies but can't see any. Haven't changed bedding or anything (that I can think of) I suppose I've never looked at colour of chest before - but red looks wrong to me ?? Lily WAS pecking feather from Smokie (it was obvious)- but bumper bit seems to have cured that. I haven't seen them pluck their own feathers. They're both otherwise fine - laying, eating, drinking, lively etc. Any ideas ?? H
Plum
Could it be a bit of a moult - coincidence in all of them. Guess most likely is feather pecking. Once the skin is inflamed I believe it can go red.
Falkor
Could it be where they rub themselves on the grug and glug?
Leicester_H
Could it be where they rub themselves on the grug and glug? Yes - I wondered about that. Since they're otherwise fine, I think (hope) I'm just being paranoid (as usual!!) Thanks, H
Falkor
You could try using other feeders for a while to see if it gets better and then you will know. Then if it doesn`t sell the feeders on (2nd hand make ok money on ebay etc)
