iandjsmum
Day 22 for us and I couldn't believe it when I realised I could hear tiny cheeping sounds coming from our eggs under the broody. This is our first hatch and it seems nothing short of a miracle! Just the most extraordinary thing to hear an egg cheep! Now I need to rush out tomorrow to buy the chick crumbs..... Anyone know how long it will be from now?
Falkor
Not too long now......you could have chicks by morning Best get yourself off to the shops early tomorrow....the chicks will be sustained by the absorbed yolk to start with. iandjsmum
Quick and very excited update to say that over the weekend 4 eggs from the original 12! hatched. We've now got 1 appenzeller chick and 3 scots dumpies. One of the dumpies looked like it wasn't going to make it (I thought it was dead... too far from mum) but it seems to be making a good recovery, although I'm not sure whether both it's feet are OK. Hopefully manage to post some photos soon.... when I can prise them out from under mum!
