This is an Elizabethan house in Northamptonshire and is lovely. It has a wonderful atmosphere and the guides are so keen to speak and enrich the visit with more information. We visited the church and the lady in there told us so much of the history of the surrounding area. I'm inspired to read more so any book recommendations would be gratefully received. I have to say that I have never explored the countryside around there before. It's lovely and so quiet.

Afraid I can't help you with your books but it really is a lovely place, I used to live very near to it before I moved to Wales and often went there. You should also try Baddesley Clinton, its a bit further North but is well worth a visit.
