Just after christmas, my son struggled to get into England because of the snow, then he struggled to leave England because of the volcano. He went to Brisbane to surf, but the surfing wasn't good, now he's in Indonesia where they've had an earthquake.

He's planning Nepal and Canada later in the year - I hope they're prepared for him!

My Dad and Stepmother had just walked down the platform at London Bridge when a bomb went off, luckily they weren't hurt. She was also involved in a train crash at Cannon Street.

They got married in Hawaii and were air lifted out because of a hurricane and taken to San Fransisco. We were really worried that an earthquake would be the next thing.

We never travel anywhere with them.:wink:

This is on a much lesser (and less impressive  ) scale, but while travelling to Spain last week with 5 friends:

- one of us was travelling from Dublin the day Irish airspace closed due to volcanic ash (it opened just in time for her to fly)

- just before leaving Edinburgh, they cancelled our flight and closed the airport so we drove to Newcastle

- just before leaving Alicante, they cancelled our flight (didn't close the airport and other airlines flew, but not ours  )
