Smart Feeder - Light sensor values

Hi guys,

 

My brother is a joiner and is going to make me a huge Walk in run for the chickens when i get them so they have more space, he has said to see what mesh to get and where from mainly because its probably quite expensive.

 

Any ideas from people who have made one?

Definitely weldmesh. Try Hills of Devon - I've got 19 gauge (1mm thick I think?) but others go for 16 gauge (1.6mm thick, I think). Hills also sell on Ebay. My weldmesh (which DIDN'T come from them as I wanted to save a few pounds d'oh! ) is PVC coated and sometimes I wonder if the gauge includes the PVC, as it seems very thin! So we reinforced the bottom of our run with seriously heavy-duty chain link fencing from Wickes.

Sorry I cheated and have ordered one but look forward to seeing your brothers efforts. When I was originally looking, Hills of Devon gave best price for mesh.

I know this post is OLD but I am going to start the digging to extend my WIR at the weekend.

 

This morehens disease has certainly taken hold and to fit my new chicks in the run when they are ready I want to give the girls a bit more space.

 

So a nice new purple cube will have to be ordered and my weldmesh has just been delivered to work so I will be able to get cracking on it soon.
