craftyhunnypie
Woohoo - at last the Lavender Pekins are officially off heat. Just coming up to 5 weeks. They have been sleeping away from the electric hen for just over a week & it's been off for about 5 days. So yesterday upon cleaning the brooder, I removed it & they were fine. They are going out in the garden, in the shade & in their guinea pig cage today for a few hours. Then back in the house tonight. I'll get hubby to build the run to the new purple eglu later & I might put Button & her Millefleur chicks outside in there. They are not really dependent on their mum now - just sort of snuggle up to her at night, but not under her wings. I'm hoping that the Lavenders can be introduced to the Millefleurs soon too & they can live together. I've done this gradually once before with chicklets & it went well. Button is quite restless with her babies now & it won't be long until she will want to go back with her friends & probably lay again. I am pretty certain that the 2 Millefleurs are girls & there is only 1 boy in the Lavenders. I think I have been very lucky. As if this is the case I can keep them all.
