Pro - Does anyone else's nest boxes get soaked in rain?

one of my girls laid a very wrinkly egg over the weekend... i think i know which one but i know they can lay all sorts of shapes but this is likely a 90 year olds skin (apologies to any 90 years olds) she seems fine in all aspects although doesn't lay every day eats enough most probably more than the other one.. so i'm guessing she is ok just strange shaped eggs..

 

any ideas... is she not getting something

How old is she ? My light sussex must be coming up to two and a half now and she lays a few wrinkly eggs. I just put it down to age -maybe wrinkly hens lay wrinkly eggs ?

i think she is about 18 months or so... but the other one is the same age..

 

i got them when i bought the eglu second hand and they had had them about a year.. i have had afew wrinklies but this one in particular looks like a raisin...

 

they both look healthy and everyhting that should be bright red is..

 

guess its just me worrying about nothing

Could be related to the recent hot weather. It is commoner in older hens as a rule.

If they're disturbed or shocked, that can cause disruption to the shell making part of the process. One other thing it's a sign of is that they've had Infectious Bronchitis in the past - that doesn't mean they have it now or are more likely to in the future.

One of my ex bats lays a wrinkly egg most days. This has only started in the last couple of months. They vary from day to day in their wrinkliness with some having just a crease along the shell and some looking like the surface of the moon!
