jlo
You lovely people were all brilliant with the fancy dress ideas for DS's Iceland trip. You were also brilliant last year when OH had to buy a gift for a conference that he went on. Well - here goes again hoping that you can be as fantastic as ever... OH is going on yet another legal conference (it dopes involve golfing at Turnberry so it won't be all hard work!) and he has to buy a gift for less than £40 to go into a kind of secret santa pile and the theme is (topically enough I suppose!) The World Cup. Any bright ideas? I found **this** which I would be very happy with but I don't suppose that sensible lawyers would see it as a good choice
Couperwife
what about a mini fridge filled with world cup official beer (or drink of some description) and a bag of trashy world cup goodies (to the correct value) an official football shirt (with an obsure team that could possibly win - like cameroon nearly did a few years ago ) I like the idea of a box of sweets an xbox/wii/ps3 World cup 2010 game? i might be back with some more ideas hope these were somewhere near useful - if only for making you smile cathy x

Olly
I think the sweets box is quite good, actually ... sensible lawyers or not, I bet they'd dive on them! If it's a 'secret santa' then I'm guessing it isn't meant to be too serious. Besides, the advantage of secret santa gifts is that "Ooops, word censored!"ody knows who bought what! DebC
Where did you get the idea that lawyers are sensible?
Tutti Frutti
What about making up a small football themed hamper Chocs, English Ales, the 1966 Final on DVD and £19.66 in cash Or if there are some other nationalities there, make it more international with the winners by year... so 2006 = Italian pastrami/wine, 2002 = brazil nuts, 1998 = French cheese, 1994 = chocolate brazils (sorry, lacking ideas!), 1990 = German beer etc. You could do them all nicely ribbon'ed up and labelled with the date, score and venue... (I'm not a football guru, I looked it up here ). And put a football in, of course! PS My brother got this for his birthday hehe
