Unsecure chicken perches

Cilla has been broody again for a couple of days so I thought I would nip it in the bud and put her into the cage of shame yesterday evening....However, I have now found that she has laid an egg in the cage ( and is busy eating it throught the gaps in the floor)

So was I mistaken in thinking she was broody??? I don't think so to be honest as she was on the nest all the time and twice her usual size when I turfed her off it! She's been broody twice before so I think I know the symptoms!

But---I thought they stopped laying when they were broody??? Or does the broodiness come first and then they stop laying a few days later??

Should I leave her in the cage for a couple more days?

Is she still sitting down like a broody?

 

Maybe she's just coming out of it?

it's hard to tell if she's sitting like a broody in the cage but she def was before, in the coop...

Will have to see if she lays another egg today

Anybody know if they can be broody and carry on laying?????
