Is it harriets time?

Recommended Posts

Poor Harriet, she's looking so very sad :(:(

She's been unwell and very hunched for a few days. Now she has segregated herself in a corner, not very active, ignoring treats/food and drinking occasionally. She's very scrawny.

the vet has given me some baytril without seeing her as I thought that the journey would be too much for her. I can collect it in the morning.

I have put her in my broody cage, (my broody is now in the nest box  ) I've put corn, wet mash and water in there for her.

I think she is about 2 1/2 yrs old now...

Any advice???

I have been worming them, but she is refusing to eat much. Wont take any treat :(

I've put her in the nestbox tonight as she hasn't many feathers and dont want her to get cold over night. I will try the bayril tomorrow, fingers crossed it perks her up, i'm a very sad and worried mummy at the moment.

Not really, hardly any appetite, not moving move, just stands with her back to everyone else. She has slowed down also as we have be able to catch her to give her the once over.

She is Very thin poor thing. I've put her in the cage to make it easier to give her the anti biotics, plus I am worried that the others may bully her.

I am off to get antibiotics now, hoping I am right not taking her with me, but I think the journey will be too much for her.

Plus I've a suspicion that if the vet saw a skinny, featherless lethargic chicken he would want to put her to sleep, I am not sure she's that poorly.......
