johnandkymberley
we cleaned out the roosting bar trays this morning (in our eglu cube) and found one of the girls had laid a soft egg through the bars. We had thunder and lightning the other night, could this of been a factor?
Christian
Probably, any fright can cause a blip in the system. Nothing to worry about
Aimee
We've had this too - the first of our five girls began laying a week ago and since then the others have joined in too. On three occassions there has been a soft egg laid through the bars into the droppings tray (only hard ones in the nesting box). Not sure yet if it's the same girl doing it but after reading up on new layers, am thinking it's just early teething problems and it will stop. I know they are having the correct food and access to grit etc. Glad to know it's not just me though!
