The Dogmother
Now, I have a problem here... After my 25 year old stereo finally gave up the ghost, I treated myself to one of these - digital radio being the way to go and all that. It arrived yesterday and I set it up... fantastic playback from CDs and ipod BUT the aerial (screw in floppy wire antenna) doesn't pick up any FM or DAB radio stations. Now we have two other DAB radios in the house (I prefer radio to TV) and both of them work fine, I live in a town centre with good reception. I called up the manufacturer this morning; predictably, they have advised that i contact the retailer for a replacement, which I will do when they open for the day. I checked up on customer feedback reviews before buying it and they all seemed fine; on further deep digging today, I find two which say that they found the reception to be pants! Now, I have a couple of questions... I have two aerial points - digital TV and FM radio near this stereo, but they have the standard type of TV aerial fitting (round plug with a prong in the middle) - is it possible to get a converter to make it fit the stereo? It is possible that they will send a replacement, which will then be fine, but if it isn't can anybody recommend to me an ipod dock, which also plays CDs and has DAB radio? Chook n Boo Mum
No help at all I'm afraid, just wanted to commiserate with you............the reception round here is dreadful I get very irritated when my favourite piece of music or very funny presenter is in full flow then stops mid word bring back wind-up I say Sha x
The Dogmother
The funny thing here is that digital TV reception is quite poor - and I'm not just talking about my 14" set with digibox; neighbours with big receivers have problems too. But DAB radio reception is fine.

I think so, ask in maplin or other electronics shop.
The Dogmother
Thanks Fred, I will pop up to Maplins at the weekend. I have spoken to the retailer, who are collecting it on Monday and providing a replacement - we shall see if it works. I suspect that the naff aerial is to blame
