Recommended Posts

Hi everyone.

Just got a cube with a 3m run. we are getting the hens tomorrow .. relly excited.. how many hens can I comfortably fit in with the 3m run? We want to get 6 if possible but don't want to overcrowd them.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks.... They will get out most days to FR round the garden, just in when I'm at work 3 days a week, but even then allowed out if when the kids get home from school. They are big kids now 11 up to 16 so are reasonably responsible and will watch the hens.

I thought, going on the omlet website that a cube with the run extension can take up to 10 hens... I know depends on size oh the hens, but thought 6 would be ok.

Sorry new to all this, so have lots of questions lol. Want the hens to be happy

don't know yet what breeder are gettin we were going to have a look at them and take the advice of the breeder

thanks again for the replies. 

Hi jules waves back . Thanks, I've already put an old wooden garden chair in the run and a big branch with a couple of smaller branches off it, so plenty of perching space if I could figure out how to post pics I'd put one up so you can see. Can't wait to get them we are all excited lol

Hahaha funny you should say that ... We were thinking that too... So 5 it is lol. We are getting them from R Miller, in Preston. He's been recomended and on the omlet list. Yes looking at hybrids, want the greater egg production .... Hopefully... A farmer friend who gets her hens from there said to have a look at one called a barty blue ? Don't know if it is hybrid or not or what it lays like was going to ask the breeder.

I'll try and post some pics later. We re not going till later as have ballet run with dd lol
