Miss Moneypenny
Is there anyone else out there in my town with chickens in the garden?
Janepie33
My brother and SIL live in Shoeburyness. They have 4 chickens roaming round their garden. No Eglu, but a lovely WIR built by my brother.
figarogir1
I'm in shoebury with 4 chickens wandering around my garden. There are a few of us round here with chickens although I think I'm the only one on the forum you are welcome to come and visit

Miss Moneypenny
Fab! Glad to chat to you all! I have four hens in the garden in Southchurch... I'm looking to buy organic layers pellets somewhere local, where do you buy all your chicken bits from?
figarogir1
Morleys garden centre in great wakering do a few bits but I get my organic layers pellets from the garden centre in Battlesbridge just before the narrow bridge. They are really helpful there and keep chooks themselves. I don't know if Barling poultry do organic layers - they may be worth a try. Guest
And of course if you are in Battlesbridge its just a spit to my house in Rettendon. That feedstore also has a good range of mite control stuff - was the only place I could get everything I needed last year when we had red mite. If you are out this way there is a cracking chicken place just round the corner too.....
bigmommasally
Not your town exactly but I'm quite near in South Woodham Ferrers. Have you tried D&F feeds in Hullbridge, they do Small Holders but not sure what other makes they do

taz1967
Would be good if you could let us know where you all get your feed from and what feed you get. Only place I know is the the Battlesbridge Mill Garden centre and they sell Marriges. Does anyone know if you can buy direct from Marriges???? stoice
i live in colchester but work in Southend. I use Garvo feed at the moment, getting it from Rosehill Hatchery, Creephedge Lane, East Hanningfield Chelmsford, Essex CM3 8BP, but have used Copdock Mill from Pottash Garden Centre, Main Road, Hawkwell, Hockley SS5 4JN, or Marriages feed from the Marriages store in Colchester (Or Upsons in Hatfield Peverel), or Allen & Page from D&F Feeds in Hullbridge
