Unsecure chicken perches

One of my chickens has broken off the end of her beak. How serious is this? Should I take her to the vet? She seems to be pecking around ok but not realy sure if she's eating.

You need to make sure she acn eat OK - if she can, leave her, if she can't, take her to the vet.

Is it bleeding? - if so she's hit the quick + you'll need to stop that. Try cornflour, or the vets.

 

If not she should be fine, it'll wear down + smooth out a bit as she pecks + scratches.

Just make sure she is eating, maybe try mash (just add boiling water to pellets) for a couple of days
