cheekyjen
My chickens have been given meal worms as their treat but lately dont appear to be so keen. I would appreciate any ideas of alternative treats for them which, of course, are safe?! Thank you!
ISCA
Mixed corn is my usual treat for them in the early evening, although not if it is really warm as it can increase their body heat apparently.
Ms Tilytinkle
Ours enjoy broccoli stems & runner beans (cooked) occasionally tuna mainly when moulting MsTilysthinksherchookswouldeatanythinggiventothem. honorandkit
The only treat apart from mealworms mine have liked so far is porridge oats - dry, simply sprinkled on the ground.
Guest
Our girls get a variety so they don't get to bored with 1 type. And they don't get treats every day on week days. Monday = Corn or Cucumber Wednesday = Cucumber or Corn Friday = Mealworms Saturday = Anything Sunday = Anything So it gives them variety. migsy
Mine go mad for mixed corn. I just put it in a feeder in the evening when I want them back in the run and they go in like a shot.
