chuckmum6
My chicks are nearing 5 weeks and I am thinking that maybe when they are 6 weeks they should be fully feathered - so able to cope without their lovely mums. Do I wait until the mums are fed up with them, or move them on anyway? One of my mum's has started to squat when I go near her - so maybe getting ready to lay. I am going to begin to introduce growers pellets over the next few days are the mums ok to eat this?
Egluntyne
I leave it till mum is looking fed up with the babies. You'll notice the odd bit of pecking and impatience. Then it is time to move them.
