Guest
Well fun this morning. So I'm walking down the hallway talking to mum. Get to the kitchen pour myself a drink and look out the window. Picture 2 Marsh Daisy's running around happy as ever. Me going into a panic. The doors are open and our doberman is asleep on the sofa and if she wakes up she could see the girls. I lock the doors and go outside having a go at 2 girls who seem rather chuffed with themselves. Now they are medium sized birds and they got through trellace that is big enough for an adult pekin nothing else. But they got through. Silly girls they might be escape artists but they aren't smart when it comes to a bag of mealworms that got them back in their run and mum and I putting chicken wire on the trellace. What a fun morning and a warning to all Marsh Daisy owners. THEY ARE ESCAPE ARTISTS. Their new names. Leyla and Petunia Houdini.
jellykelly
Lol - I can just picture two smug looking hens strutting around. When I first got my ex batts, one of them had found an escape hole. the trouble was, once she had escaped, she panicked and went back in
Guest
Oh no these were very smug strutting around the garden. Then getting all over excited about finding a worm. They are very silly girls and I was rather angry so no treats today. They put themselves in danger tut tu.

majuka
I can just imagine them being so pleased to discover new territory to explore! Once they've found a new place they won't give up easily will they? Last summer my OH sent me a picture of the girls in our house. He had been in the kitchen and left the back door open. The girls were in the main garden as a treat for them and as he came out of the kitchen he found Georgie (our cheekiest girl) on the second step of the stairs about to explore the upstairs of our house! meezers
I think they think we're stupid !I netted off an area of the garden for the chooks, to save my plants. I watched them for an hour to be sure they couldn't escape. They stayed put for 3 hours until they saw me exit the kitchen with the treat bowl, then all 7 of them ducked under my escape proof netting and trotted down the path to meet me ! Guest
They were in the garden before the WIR. They miss it but I can't trust them because they fly off.
