Hi all

 

This is my first post in this section. I try to grow as much as possible in the space I have but I'm hoping to get an allotment/find some land through land share so that my chickens can have more space in the garden as they cannot be trusted with the veggies

 

I live in a large village which does not have any allotments. A questionnaire was sent round by the Parish Council last year and I responded saying that I would be interested in an allotment. Apparently there was a fair amount of interest but no progress has been made in allocating land. I have been advised by the Parish Clerk that a representation needs to be made.

 

Just wondering if anyone has petitioned the Council for the allocation of land for use as allotments and how they have done so? I'm really keen to do something about it but just not sure how to do it and, as I have not lived in the village for that long, have no idea who else is interested!

 

I've also heard that if I can track down a private land owner, they may wish to allow land to be used for allotments without the need for Parish Council involvement.

There's the Hugh F-W landshare scheme. Have you thought about that?
