Margalot
Well as the days tick by I am sure that Florence and our smallest Aphrodite are Cockerels I have googled / watched you tube videos / browsed forums looking for clues about sexing Brahmas. Their tails seem to be different? Girl Brahmas tails seem upright and going to a tip? Well out of our four two have the pointy tail and the two suspects have a more pom-pom looking tail. Also Florence seems really tall, I know she is older than the others but she holds herself taller. I think Florence is around 16 weeks old and the others 14 week old I will try to get photos on here tonight and show the difference between the four. No sickle feathers showing, but Florences face has gone very red, she still has small wattles, she is the most vocal and sounds like a goose when she spots me almost honking. The others are still making cheepy chick noises. Does anyone know the Brahmas inside out and could give me any clues? We dont mind one cockerel and if it turns out to be florence then that fine as she is the freindliest hen anyway and lets me have a cuddle, but if Aphrodite has to go I will be sad also Florence and Aphrodite will have beak to beak and staring competions, with neck feathers raised? but I have seen Florence do this with Lola also........ to impatient to wait for a crow!! Thank you Michelle
Ygerna
Did you get photos sorted? I remember when I hatched my first batch of eggs. I was convinced I had at least one cockerel, however, as I get an egg from her each day I am now more inclined to believe she is a girl after all
