Unsecure chicken perches

It has been soo hot and dry I was surprised to see bathsheba shoot past me with a humnogous worm in her beak - I shouted to OH and ES to come as I'd never seen such a funny sight - she shot across lawn twice with the others on her tail and then shot into a bush to reappear 2 mins later wormless - who ate it I dont know. We laughed so much and cursed for not having video handy. I just wonder where she got a worm from in such dry conditions.
