Cheryl
I have 4 Poland chicks which are two weeks old, and three Seramas who are one week old .. I tried to put the seramas with the Polands but they were quite mean, I also have 24 Bald Necks due to hatch in two weeks time.. does this mean I will always have to keep them all apart? three brooders, three heaters, oh dear! how can I put them together? ..or can't I? Please help!
tom123
I don't mix chicks under heat, they stay in the groups they were hatched with but when they come off heat they go into a huge (6mx6m) grass run and all ages from 7 weeks up to about 15 weeks live in here in harmony. So long as they have enough space to get away from each other then they are fine.
Cheryl
Yes I thought so, of course if you put them all in together at the same time all will be ok... Still I should have been a bit more forward thinking and still have a problem on my hands.. but thanks for advice x
Redwing
I mx chicks under heat to about 2 weeks difference, I always keep brand new chicks separate for a couple of days to make sure they are eating drinking and running about ok Polands are a problem though, I have only had two batches but I've had to keep them completely separate as the other chicks peck at their heads
Cheryl
Well, my four Polands who are about 2 and a half weeks old are going to be ok as they are the oldest.. the little seramas although they are just over a week old are tiny and thats the problem i think... they are the ones who will get pecked
