Lavenders_Blue
On Friday I went to see my Mum and Dad and was presented with 3 ice cream tubs full of gooseberries from my Dad's allotment - nearly 8lb! So yesterday I topped and tailed 6lb of them (what a truly tedious task that is) and made 13lb gooseberry jam. Today I will be using the rest to make gooseberry and elderflower ice cream. This will be a truly home grown recipe as I will use elderflower cordial that I made a few weeks ago from the recipe on here. Sadly, it is an egg-free ice cream recipe as this would catapult it into the premier league of self sufficiency, but it's delicious all the same! C&T
Loads of Gooseberries! Well done with all that topping and tailing. It can take forever My Dad always reckons they should all be individually shaved as well...
