Patricia W
Those of you who like foraging might like to go looking for wild cherry plums. The fruit is a lovely red colour and they taste just like the larger cultivated variety. I noticed one was laden with fruit yesterday when I took the dog out, so this morning I went prepared. I picked 4 and a half pounds in about 10 minutes and so far have made 2 lbs into wild cherry plum vodka and the rest is bubbling away as an apple and wild cherry chutney. And the yellow wild plums have not even started yet! Tricia

Patricia W
Near Oxford - and I think everything is earlier this year down here as we've had such good weather. I really didn't expect them to be ready yet - but I think I missed the red ones last year. The yellow ones certainly have a way to go. But keep an eye open - food for free! Ygerna
I have no idea where to go to look for wild fruit trees It is times like these that really make me pine for 'home', where I knew all the lanes and byways to go walking and foraging. Oh, oh, hang on, its the summer holidays; I feel a trip to my parents is needed
