Egluntyne Posted July 27, 2010 Share Posted July 27, 2010 This is quite common. Could be a moult or some sort of external parasite. Have you checked her over for signs of mites or lice? winterwren Posted July 27, 2010 Share Posted July 27, 2010 Ive got the same problem and having had a check over all the girls I cant see any signs of mites. chicken bark Posted July 27, 2010 Share Posted July 27, 2010 If you are really worried you could always try spraying them with an anti pecking spray - not so much because there may be pecking going on but because I think it contains mild antiseptic and so may be soothing for the hen.
