Pro - Does anyone else's nest boxes get soaked in rain?

can anyone tell me why my hen cock a doddles 2-3 times a day, she will shut up if you give her food (treats) but i don't want to be running out to her every time she calls, i'v had her for nearly 2 yrs we did have 2 but we lost 1, but even before we lost the other she would cock a doodle any idears why

If she's by herself, she may well be calling for company. They don't like being alone. Are you going to get her a friend - or better still two friends?

she has been doin it well before my other poor chic died and of course we are waiting for a phone call for 2 more battery hens i would have alot more if i could but the hubby put his foot down tut

I don't know why they do it. I have a gold Sebright that is out on the perch doing it every morning and several times throughout the day. I just ignore her and she eventually stops.

well at least its just not mine for some reason i always seem to get pets that are a bit weird or stupid but i love em all thanks for your replies xxxxxxx
