Dizzy-Deb
Hi all For my current critters have always used a sitter that popped in during the day but some things have changed and am thinking about using a House/Pet sitting service.... but a bit nervous about this. Has anyone got any experience of using one ? thanks xx
chickencam
No sorry we use a pet caring business that will also water your plants, she pops in at what ever time you want and would do more than one visit per day if needed. We have found the cost very reasonable compared with sending the cats to a cattery, and it has been a great solution with the chickens. Paola
A good friend of mine has used them in the past and has been very pleased with them. She has a couple of dogs, a couple of cats and at the time a chameleon. I believe the last time she used them she got an Australian couple. MadMitch
We use these when we go away. http://housesittersltd.co.uk/ Unfortunately most house sitters are quite pricey but its piece of mind for us. We tend to use the same couple Clive and Suzy, they are really nice and the cats liked them instantly which surprised us as they normally disappear when a stranger is in the house. It's nice not having to worry about anything when you're away and the house is spotless when we come home. They are around all the time as they are only allowed to leave for a 3 hour period during the day and not at night time. Most tend to bring crafty things to do to keep themselves occupied. They weren't put off by my long list of chicken instructions either
BeckyBoo
I'm using one for the first time this weekend! that said, it's someone who advertised on the small ads at work - young-ish woman who still lives at home and does it to have a weeks worth of independent living. She's chargin me £100 which I actually thought was pretty darned good - she'll walk Delilah, sort the chickens, cat, rabbits and fish, and I don't even have to provide her any food! (But I do have to spend a day cleaning and tidying and stripping beds before I dare leave! ) Having met her yesterday (she came to meet the animals and walk the dog with me) I'm not really nervous......well, maybe just a little bit BeckyBoo
