henny penny
Hi I'm just lifting some potatoes and my onions and wondered what everyone is planting in their place? and whether anyone is making more sowings for late summer/autumn? Yesterday - i sowed some lettuces, pak choi, mizuna in part of the space and not sure what else to sow?
chickencam
spinach, chard, turnips, radishes, if you can find some plants you could plant leeks, maybe autumn carrots, they wouldn't get huge but you would get a crop. brassica plants like spring cabbage and cauliflowers. Edited to say herbs like parsley that will then stand over the winter. I quite often plant coriander and parsley at this time of year and get better results than earlier sowings. Ms Marple
Several places around me are suggesting planting potatoes now for Christmas. Can I really do this and if so, would it be ok to plant them where the potatoes were /are now as long as I rotate next year?
