The Dogmother
I put cider vinegar in my girls water as I read that, that was a natural worm preventer, they certainly don't mind drinking the water, in fact I tried it first for my spoilt babies and you can't taste it at all. I guess it would be wise to use a wormer as well, how often do you have to use it ? It's advised that you worm quarterly with a licensed wormer such as Flubenvet. Keep it up with the ACV though as it's a good general conditioner.
Jools
It's actually advised by Janssen (the manufacturer) that you use Flubenvet every three months. Most experienced poultry keepers (including those who write books on the subject) advise twice per year, spring and autumn. Some long-term poultry keepers swear by ACV when it comes to keeping their flocks worm free. Indeed, I understand that ACV has wide-ranging benefits not just as a conditioner, but in fighting coccidiosis too. I haven't used it for either but I do trust those who do.
