Davilind
Cube ideas, We’ve been keeping chickens for a couple of years now, but have recently lost the battle with red mite and succumbed to buying a Cube. I like to try and change things around to suit our needs and wants. So I thought I’d share a couple of ideas with you. Picture 1. We like the old feeding station so I put a broom across the corner under the shaded area and hang the station from it. Picture 1 Picture 2. I thought the chicken would like some extra exercise when not in the Garden so we added two extra perches. These are Planed 2x1 which was sanded to take the edges off then treaded with a non toxic wood preserver. I positioned one so they could drink from above and the other was positioned so they can jump to the cube. Picture 2 Picture 3. I move the cube around the garden but when the weather looks bad or when we are away and neighbours are looking after the girls I’ve laid a ring of slabs and stand some bricks around. I’ve ordered a winter shade in preparation for worse weather. Picture 3 Future project I’m in the process of building an automatic door for the cube that uses the existing door, I can’t find anyone who has done before but it looks like it will work. More on this later. Has anyone got any other ideas of modifications?
Tutti Frutti
NICE WORK! All I've done is divide the nest box with an old place mat, tie-wrapped in place

scarlettohara
If you search Stehaggan's posts he has made an automatic door for his cube
Davilind
Hi scarlettohara I saw Stehaggan's idea, very good, however, I wanted the flexibility to move the cube around the garden and still have the automatic feature, so I'm developing an automatic door that drives the original door.
