Any good for showing?pics

Recommended Posts

I am sorry I don;t know one end of a pekin from another but i would say.....

You have probably chosen the hardest breed for showing - and that's because there is loads of competition in the pekin classes!

I started showing last year and was really nervous but after my first show I was hooked.

The best thing to do is have a go and if nothing else you can have a word with the judge afterwards to find out what they think about your birds. Showing is a great way to meet new poultry people and i have found on the whole everyone is lovely and friendly - thats so long as you wait until after they have finished preparing their birds for the pen! (beforehand you are likely to get a grunt as stress levels can be high!)

Have a go - you have nothing to loose and you never know you may come home with a prize!

Good luck.

Thanks Bev,

What breeds are easy to show please? :D

There is a few breeds moll :D

The hardest competition is pekins and games i would say ... And It can sometimes range to orpingtons and belgian bantams ...

I would say rhode island reds and stuff like that would have less competition ...

BUT ... If there is a rare breeds section at your show i would enter frizz into that ... You can only try :D
