The_eggwards_family
Day 2 of being chicken keepers and so far its fascinating. I noticed today though that I can see quite large white flakes on the darker two hens - they probably are on the white one too, but I cant see them. They almost look like bits of plastic. Is this dandruff of sorts? Or is it something else? Im hoping it isnt anything sinister. They are just having a dust bath now - it is soooo funny to watch. Two of them spent ages making holes and dusting in it then when they vacated it the third one hopped in, although the orginal chook wasnt best pleased with her and pecked her in the eye! So any ideas re the white flakes? Thanks folks
Charlottechicken
Sounds like dandruff, they must be growing some new feathers Are they preening a lot?
