D C S
can anyone enlighten me as to what is acceptable to top up a dust bath for my girls and what is not - for example can i use any hoover contents or is that too mite infested. we swept the garden and put that in, but it has been flicked everywhere in the grass and needs to be topped up with something? chicken bark
Ash, compost, soil, sand... Personally I wouldn't use hoover bag contents but others may think differently.
grb944
Mine dug their own dustbath in the run right under the grub feeder ! when I topped it up with dust off the garage floor they never used it again ! They now have a low quater barrel thing full of ash from a bonfire..but i has to be sieved...they love it I also put red mite powder in the dust bath. My books say play sand or sharp sand and not builders sand
