cbutler21
this morning I let the chickens out of the coop, and one of them started running and flapping around and the collapsed on the floor with her right wing and leg stiffening out and would stand up, i comforted her and picked her up, she seem very subdued! Tried putting her on her feet, she tried to take a few steps but then just sat onthe floor! I have taken her to the vets who where no help at all, said she seem very perky and nothing wrong with her leg as i thought she may have cramp! The vet said we will give her a flu jab and bring her back in 48hrs for a secong injection..... Has anyone else experienced this!? Or got any advice for me...... Egluntyne
Any chance that she was just dust bathing or sunbathing ? Either can look a bit alarming if you aren't used to seeing it.

cbutler21
Has anyone got anymore advice!?........ since having the flu jab, would you advise not to eat her eggs!?
Egluntyne
Why not ring the vet and ask for some guidance on this, and mention this morning's symptoms. S/he might be able to shed some light on it.

Egluntyne
Can't help you, sorry, without knowing the name of the drug. Perhaps you could ask when you go back in 48 hours. In the meantime, it would probably be a wise precaution to have a period of egg withdrawal until you have further information.
Plum
Where are you? Perhaps someone can tell you of a vet who knows about poultry.
