dixie chick
I have had my 7 girls for 6 weeks now and am feeling like a proper chicken mummy at last! Keeping their quarters clean is becoming quite a chore though - I use Aubiose on the floor in their inside space (a stable) and it is virtually impossible to get it totally poo-free so I just pick up the worst areas, under where they roost, and scatter fresh Aubiose on top. At some stage, I guess I will have to clear the whole lot out and put a fresh bale or two in. It occurred to me that there might be lots of handy practical cleaning tips that you experienced chicken keepers can share - for example; how do you sweep up a curry poo? Part of my girls' run is flagged, so I give it a sweep every evening - but those curry poos just cant be swept - you end up spreading them everywhere! Thanks everyone
Plum
To get up a curry poo flick some aubiose over it then using trowel knock it into dustpan tray. If it's hit the floor then when you have done that rub some aubiose in with your foot and remove that. Use a rake to go through the litter and the poo comes to the top and is easily removed. Have you got aubiose over all the flags? A thin layer is all you need as long as they have somewhere deeper to chuck it around. You have got quite a few girls though
