Sunday is FRing day - usually 10am to 5pm. I let them out extra early today as I was off to the gym at 9am. Cissie and Ada are out quicker than Usain Bolt in the Olympic 100m final.

 

When I went out to them Madge was in the 'original' run - not the WIR with the door I have opened. The other two were waiting at the WIR door for me. Madge is in the 'original' run. She has been going potty for nearly three hours now. She will not come into the WIR as there is a 'fire breathing, chicken eating monster' in there that she is too scared to run past.

 

I am not opening the front door to the 'original' run (that she is trying to grate herself through to get out) and I am not moving the cabbage she was really happy to nibble and head butt last night.

 

The other two are trying their hardest to pursuade her to come out - but no. One step over the threashold to the WIR and she sees the 'fire breathing, chicken eating monster' and goes running back.

 

So IMHO, Madge is the most stupid chook.

Bless, I would be sitting outside with a cuppa watching - bet you could get £250 for her on you've been framed - or animals do the funniest (silliest? daftest?) things!

And believe me the DH has been out with a cuppa. When I was out, he was 'baby sitting' and literally sat on the conversatory steps drinking coffee for 90 minutes doing NOTHING. The grass is ankle deep, the Omlet type fence needs 'tightening up', there is a pile of washing ready to go on the line.........and he does nothing bar listen to Madge protesting and trying to find another way out.

 

Me - having a quick breakfast and on-line supermarket shop before I give the runs their weekly clean and tidy. I can imagine the fun I am going to have with a mad ginger chook.

She came out at 1pm - 4 1/2 hours it took her. And that's when I was raking the wood chip and the 'fire breathing, chicken eating monster' got all caught in the raking was out of sight for a few moments.
