3.6m Omlet Chicken Run for sale, Brand New in Boxes, Milton Keynes (MK19)

It is our first day with the chickens and this afternoon the gardener came round with his loud lawnmower and rather large dog!!!!! They hadn't ventured in to the house box previous to this, now we can't get them out of it? Is this going to stop them laying eggs?

Ours are the same but now seem to know what's coming and troop into the nest box in a very dignified manner. It doesn't seem to cause anything major, just something annoying for them. They don't like it when our neighbour sweeps his patio and shout at him then, I don't understand why that bothers them!

They all baulk at loud,unexpected noises,especially when young,but they will get used to it in their own time.

Mine have always been scared of the lawn mower (not that I have much grass to mow now with all my chickens and geese ) but they also get scared when I carry a large yellow sack of beddown(wood shavings) past their runs.

When the gardeners had gone Hetty laid 2 eggs and we had only had her for 7 hours! We ate it fried on toast!

We were really eggsited!
