Poultry bugs Permethrin Fumer

Recommended Posts

Just seen this on Ebay - says it is a new thing on the market - and wondered if anyone has any experience on this? Sorry if this was suppose to be under the Red Mite post, but it looks like it covers all sorts of bugs. If it works, it looks great, especially the price :D

So why are people not using them? We all use the sprays and powder, but not this? It just looks really easy and non-messy, but I'm wondering why it's not being shouted from the rooftops - it must mean that either they don't really work, or perhaps bad for the chickens, or what? Mmm...

Had a look on Google and found a farm chemical company selling the fumers. They can be used in the house, animal shelters, barns etc. I have used them in the greenhouse and may try in the hen house as i've got a terrible infestation and many sprays/powders affect my asthma.

Beware! The flea bombs which are essentially the same as these are not recommended for asthma sufferers.

More people dont use them as the coop needs to be completely sealed for them to work so lots of taping over cracks, vents, grilles and holes etc... if any smoke can escape they dont work any where nearly as well

Ah, you see, I knew there were a good reason people weren't using them :D
