hopetofinish
Just back from Southmead Poultry in Leatherhead. Looks a lovely set up. The lady there was most helpful, and I explained I wasn't buying today as my cube arrives on the 9th September. My shopping list from her though, was going to be, 1 Isa brown, 1 blue haze, 1 nera, and 1 spekledy. She advised though that as a first time keeper, and that I was after friendly chooks to go with the Isa's. So Isa Brown versus the rest. I would like nice friendly chooks, but I thought all of these would have been pretty much the same. Any thoughts?
scarlettohara
No get different ones much more fun and you will be able to tell them apart, I have 14 girls which includes 2 isa browns and 2 bluebelles but all the others are different (6 are bantams)
Redwing
I dont think there is a great deal of difference, hybrids are usually pretty friendly, the light breed based ones like White Stars and columbines are more flighty but the others are much of a muchness
hopetofinish
Thanks for the replies. So its 1 blue haze, 1 nera, 1 spekledy, and do I make the last one a sussex hybrid or the isa brown?
scarlettohara
Isa Browns lay beautiful big brown eggs so you need at least one
