patsylabrador
How many of you know that the England Rugby team are in the world cup final with New Zealand? Probably very few because it is women playing. I'm not a feminist but I get irritated by vacuous talentless celebrities being celebrated when women who achieve things get ignored. Through a friend of a friend I know one young lady on this team who has taken unpaid leave for this tournament to achieve something beyond the very tough job I know she does, but "Ooops, word censored!"ody seems to care. It bugs me.

jlo
I did know about it and was thrilled when the team beat Australia in the semis. I used to play a bit of rugby at university and DD had a go last year. She is no shrinking violet and plays a lot of football but she was taken aback with how hard it was. Good luck to the Ladies

jlo
Just noticed that the final is at The Stoop; they don't even get toplay in the 'real' stadium!!! Grrrrr The sad thing is that they would probably only fill a small percentage of it. I am sure that there would be more were there better support by the media. patsylabrador
rugger I've included the above article because it says all I try to but much more eloquently. The woman I know of is a policewoman in a difficult bit of London but I didn't see her name in the squad list.

Lavenders_Blue
Watched the game this afternoon - it was excellent! Much better, in fact, than the Leicester vs Northampton game that I had watched just before it. I was really impressed and will definitely be making the effort to watch more women's rugby in the future.
