Urgent pop hole query! Please advise!

Recommended Posts

Well, we're back from our hols so are now in a position to order our WIR! My excitement knows no bounds! :D Before I confirm the order with Chris at Bay Animal Housing, please could you help me with one last dilemma...........? :?:?

Option 1: eglu rasied off the ground (by slabs) and immediately adjacent to the WIR. Pop hole cut into weld mesh. Is this secure enough from foxes?

Option 2: retain first section of eglu run attached to eglu and have weld mesh cut to accomodate this. How do you secure the two parts?

I hope this makes sense - any replies would be gratefully received. :D

Thanks, DD. We had an amazing holiday - all-inclusive luxury for a week was utter bliss!! 8):dance: Mind you, I'm back to school tomorrow so it's back to reality with an enormous bump! Our neighbours looked after the chooks whilst we were away and did a fab job. Your plans are moving on brilliantly - I've viewed your continuing progress and things look so exciting!! :D You and your husband have worked so hard - the photos are testament to your dedication.:clap:

It's good to be back!! :D:D

I have a classic on the outside on a small table connected to the WIR,

I got this idea from some else on here - sorry can't remember who.

A section of mesh is connected to the WIR by a strip of mesh fixed to the bolts under the cover of the Eglu. A upside down U was then cut out of the lower section of the WIR panel. The section connected to the Eglu was then woven with a strong length of wire (fiddly, long nose pliers & patience required) to connect. Here's a picture of mine - I'll see if I can find other pictures.

Its very secure and I don't have any problems with foxes
