Pro - Does anyone else's nest boxes get soaked in rain?

How do you worm your chickens? How often should I do this?

 

After the mouse incident I have tried to worm the girls. I thought I'd put each portion in a separate dish with couscous a great favourite and get each to eat their own then I'd know they'd had their dose. That turned out not to be a good idea at all. Sunday Roast spent the time rushing between bowls stopping the others eating and gobbling down as much as possible. She's been well wormed. Don't think that Paxo (champion mouser) actually ate any though.

 

This morning tried mixing it with the new feed (Omlet's) which they seemed to enjoy much more than the previous brand. Will have to see what's left tonight. It's funny smelling stuff the wormer, glad I don't need it.

It depends which product you are using as to how you administer it. There are umpteen threads on the subject. Why not have a search round.

I agree with Egluntyne.

 

generally speaking - with the exception of Panacur* - most poultry wormers are supposed to be mixed in with the feed and fed over a stated period of time rather than in one dose.

 

*not licensed for use on poultry in the UK

It was the verm x pellet stuff, comes with the little scoop measure and says to do it over 3 days.
