Sooo much pooping

hello i am new to the forum, but hope someone mat be able to help me. We have a lovely wooden coop and are wanting to fit an automatic door opener.

has anyone got any experience of these, and are they reliable. Idealy I would like to see one in situ. Does anyone know of any suppliers in the Derby area that I could visit to see one.

I've not got any personal experience but I have read a lot about them. People who have them think they are great. I think you can get two sorts, one that works on a light setting and one that works off a timer.

 

Good idea to go an see one in the flesh though.

it was me i think your referring to about fitting one to the cube. I did and I am soooo glad i did makes life so much easier. I would definately recommend one, they seem a bit pricey but well worth it. At first a few of the girls got locked out but they didnt seem to mind, this was due to the sensitivity setting i had it set to so i changed it to close when it got a bit darker and now theyre all safely tucked up each evening.

 

The girls automatically start to go in when it starts getting dark and then the door closes when it gets prpperly dark and by this time they are all tucked up inside. It then opens again then in first light to let them out.

 

It is so clever, it means i can get a lie in without having to go and let them out and they can come out when they want as soon as it get light. More time out of the coop means less poo in there too i have found. I would definately recommend one.
