Redwing Posted September 26, 2010 Share Posted September 26, 2010 I used to have mine in the kitchen The noise level from a brooder is quite high Also the mess of the bedding drove me mad, I did find the perfect no mess, no smell surface in the end - J cloths covered with a thin layer of wood pellet cat litter I now have a brooder shed outside the back door which is much more suitable When I get chicks hatch in the incubator I keep them in a small hamster cage in the kitchen until I know they are eating and drinking then they go straight out to the shed Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

My chicks due next weekend are being looked after whilst we are away in a few weeks & I was worried about them kicking shavings in their drinker. I stopped rolling the eggs today :D Emma I'll tell you what colours there are when they hatch good look with yours.
