Pippahales
We have 3 regular Amber hens and we pretty much get 3 eggs a day. They usually free range they've been in the run the last few weeks as we've had the garden reseeded. This week we are only getting 1 egg a day. Why? Are they cross with me or is it the fact it's getting darker? Thanks
Chucky Mama
They are punishing you Seriously it could be that they are slowing down a little, diet may have changed if they are not free ranging perhaps. Do they need worming?
Purplemaniacs
Like Chucky Mama I wondered if they had been wormed recently. Are you giving them lots of treats to make up for less free ranging. I only give mine treats late in the afternoon to make sure they have eaten up their pellets or mash first. The nights are drawing in, I am getting a few less eggs but not a drastic drop in numbers. Pippahales
I've been using the vermex stuff but it looks like the flubivent (sorry about the spelling if I've got it wrong) might be better from browsing the forum. I'm going to start letting the girls out again today, get them ready for winter and go get the worming stuff. Hopefuly they'll be happy chooks again soon x
Purplemaniacs
I use Flubenvet, I did buy some Vermex when I first had the girls but after reading posts on here I never used it and it went out of date Chrissie
