Lesley
This is the last of our harvest of corn ready for the freezer - 10 cobs cut in half. We had about 60 corn cobs altogether from a very small plot area - well worth growing. Oo-er - I don't know why this photo is so big I'd better try and sort it out. - SuperKate's sorted it! Guest
What variety was it and just how easy are they to grow? Any pests (we usually get those!)?

Murdo
We had about 60 corn cobs altogether from a very small plot area - well worth growing. How many plants did you have Lesley ? We had 10 in this year, but didin't get nearly as many as that. And unfortunately we were so busy trying to eat the courgettes that we didn't pick the corn until it had gone over. So the chooks had most of it. This didn't seem to displease them (and adds credence to the mind control hypothesis.)
Lesley
Hi Murdo - we grew 24 plants, 3 rows of 8. We also had a few for the chickens We've saved them for our 'other' chickens which will be arriving soon.
