chooks and manure

Recommended Posts

The new residents have taken a considerable liking to the rotted horse manure that we placed round our fruit trees

I'm hoping they are just foraging for insects and not eating the stuff :vom:

They are only 20 weeks old but do you think I ought to consider worming them already because of it?

 ...... typical chooks .... probably just getting the good tasting bugs out of the manure. They are still young, and if from a reputable breeder, if not OMLET, they should be fully wormed/vaccinated to date. If you are concerend about constant "feeding" in the area, could you put some roll of mesh/wire aound the heap and secure from their beaks
